Uzbekistan and Mongolia intend to increase the volume of mutual trade by 10 times

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh agreed to increase the volume of trade turnover between the two countries 10 times as soon as possible.

President of Mongolia Khurelsukh was solemnly welcomed by President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, where he arrived for talks.

Then Mirziyoyev and Khurelsukh held face-to-face talks and as part of the delegations.

During the meeting, Mirziyoyev said that the first visit of the President of Mongolia to Uzbekistan in the history of bilateral relations would open a new page in relations between the two countries, noting that this visit is a confirmation of the mutual desire of the two countries to strengthen friendship and develop multilateral cooperation.

"Mongolia is a traditional and reliable partner for us in the Asian region. Uzbek-Mongolian relations are based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect and support. The first official visit of the President of Mongolia to Uzbekistan was rightfully a historic visit, marking the beginning of a new stage in bilateral relations. I believe that soon we will see the first tangible results of our great joint work."

Noting that Mongolia was one of the first to fully support Uzbekistan's membership in the World Trade Organization and sign the relevant protocol, Mirziyoyev stressed that his country attaches great importance to the development of relations with Mongolia.

Khurelsukh noted that they attach great importance to the development of relations with Uzbekistan and that the agreements signed during this visit will make a significant contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation.

Khurelsukh invited Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Mongolia to continue an effective dialogue on the development of cooperation between the two countries.

The volume of bilateral trade will increase 10 times

During the meeting, Mirziyoyev and Khurelsukh agreed to prepare proposals by the governments of the countries on preferential trade and mutual facilitation of market access.

Mirziyoyev and Khurelsukh agreed to increase the volume of trade between the two countries as soon as possible, which in 2023 approached $ 20 million, by 10 times, for which it was decided to create a joint working group to increase trade volume, open shopping centers in Ulaanbaatar and Tashkent, and prepare for the signing of a preferential Trade Agreement trade.

The leaders of the two countries also agreed to hold mutual business forums and industrial fairs in the capitals of their states, and a roadmap will be prepared for the timely and effective implementation of the agreements reached following the negotiations.

After the meeting, Mirziyoyev and Khurelsukh signed a Joint declaration on interstate Relations and cooperation.

Also, about 15 cooperation agreements and agreements were signed between the two countries, which provide for the development of cooperation in various fields.

The leaders also took part in the Uzbek-Mongolian business forum, which was attended by representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
