Turkmenistan has suspended the sale of tickets to Russia
Turkmenistan has stopped selling tickets to Russia for migrant workers due to the terrorist attack at a concert hall in Moscow on March 22, 2024.
In some regions of Turkmenistan, the sale of air tickets to citizens who have received an official job offer in Russia has been stopped.
In a news item put on the agenda by The Times of Central Asia on April 9, 2024, it was noted that the situation in question arose due to the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow, the capital of Russia.
The newspaper noted that after the attack, as of March 22, 2024, labor migration from Turkmenistan to Russia suddenly stopped, and those who received a job invitation and issued a visa learned that they would not be able to buy tickets.
RUSSIA IS PREPARING TO DEPORT CITIZENS OF TURKMENISTAN
On the other hand, 12 workers from Turkmenistan who worked at a grocery store in Domodedovo near Moscow were recently arrested, and 4 of them were released after being fined. 8 workers were transferred to a special detention center in the city of Yegoryevsk in the Moscow region for deportation.
According to the Chronicle of Turkmenistan, 47 Turkmen citizens are awaiting deportation in the detention center in Vidnom. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Government of Russia have begun discussing the possibility of suspending the issuance of visas to Turkmen for at least a year and a half. According to the report, the exception will apply only to diplomats and representatives of large enterprises.
ARMED ATTACK IN MOSCOW
On the evening of March 22, armed men carried out a terrorist attack in a concert hall called Crocus City Hall in Moscow, the capital of Russia. After the attackers opened fire indiscriminately in the hall with automatic weapons, a fire broke out on the roof of the building where the concert hall was located, and after a while the roof of the building collapsed.
Shortly after the attack, the Daesh terrorist organization claimed that its members had carried out a terrorist attack in Moscow, the capital of Russia. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, at least 143 people were killed in the attack.
The Ukrainian side, which was targeted by Russia after the attack, said it had nothing to do with the incident and said the attack was a deliberate act planned on the orders of Russian President Putin.
