Three years have passed since the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh

It has been 3 years since the Azerbaijani army liberated Karabakh and the surrounding provinces, which had been under the occupation of Armenia for almost 30 years.

The Azerbaijani army, which liberated its lands within 44 days during the Second Karabakh War, put an end to the people's homesickness for many years.

For almost 30 years, Armenia has been attacking Azerbaijani soldiers and civilians from Karabakh and adjacent territories occupied after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The last straw was the frequent attacks of the Armenian army on civilians and the shelling of villages on the contact line with heavy weapons on September 27, 2020. On the same day, the Azerbaijani army launched a counter-operation by order of President Ilham Aliyev.

The operation, which after a while turned into a "war in the homeland" for Azerbaijan, lasted 44 days. The Azerbaijani army liberated 5 cities, 4 villages and 286 villages from occupation.

In the war, the Azerbaijani army lost 2,908 people killed, 94 Azerbaijani civilians were killed as a result of the Armenian attack.

Armenia admitted defeat when the Azerbaijani army liberated Shusha, the symbolic city of Karabakh, on November 8, 2020. On November 10, 2020, a trilateral declaration on ending the war was signed between Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia.

According to the declaration, the Armenian army was also forced to leave the Aghdam, Kelbajar and Lachin districts.

Although November 10, the date of the signing of the trilateral declaration, was declared "Victory Day", this date was postponed to November 8, when Shusha was liberated from occupation, since it was the day of the death of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

UAV influence

During the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan widely used armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against the Armenian army. Azerbaijani UAVs destroyed a large number of weapons and ammunition belonging to the Armenian army. While the pictures of the war taken by the UAV caused joy in Azerbaijan, they had a negative psychological impact on the Armenian side.

Turkey's support gives strength to Azerbaijan

From the first minutes of the war, Turkish government officials, especially President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, have repeatedly stated that they are on the side of Azerbaijan. Turkey has warned third countries not to interfere in Azerbaijan's war for human rights. Turkey's support has raised the morale of the Azerbaijani people and the army.

President Ilham Aliyev said that Erdogan's statement that "Azerbaijan is not alone" in his every speech about Karabakh does not allow third powers to interfere in the war, and that they will never forget Turkey's support.

Azerbaijan has spent $7 billion on reconstruction and reconstruction of the region

The Government of Azerbaijan, 2. After the end of the Karabakh war on November 10, 2020, spent the last 3 years with the continuation of the Karabakh victory at the diplomatic table and work on the restoration of the areas liberated from occupation.

In Azerbaijan, where work began without wasting time after the war, the region that was destroyed and inactive by the Armenians for 30 years during the occupation, and where fierce conflicts took place three years ago, has now become a region where settlements, airports and roads with the concept of "smart city" and "smart village" are being built", agricultural lands are beginning to be cultivated.

Azerbaijan, which has started updating all roads in the region, has built 2 international airports in Fuzuli and Zangilan over the past 3 years. Hundreds of families have returned to state-built homes in Zangilan, Fuzuli and Lachin. Azerbaijan has spent $7 billion over 3 years on the reconstruction and reconstruction of the region.

Azerbaijan continued diplomatic initiatives to establish peace in the region

Determined to continue its successes in the war at the diplomatic table, Azerbaijan continued its attempts to achieve peace with Armenia.

Azerbaijan offered Armenia to sign a peace treaty on the terms of mutual recognition of each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the obligation not to make territorial claims. Armenia has stated that it accepts these conditions.

Thus, a process has begun between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is expected to lead to the conclusion of a peace treaty in the future. The process is conducted in three directions with the mediation of Russia, the United States and the European Union (EU).

Azerbaijan is waiting for a response from Armenia regarding the latest proposals that it has submitted to Yerevan on the issue of a peace agreement.

Azerbaijan's sovereignty in Karabakh is fully secured

Armenia, which was defeated in the Second Karabakh War, withdrew part of its armies from Azerbaijan, but left some of them to the illegal so-called Armenian regime, which maintains its presence in Karabakh with a large number of weapons and ammunition.

Although the Azerbaijani leadership demanded that Armenia withdraw its troops for 3 years, and the so-called regime in Karabakh abandon its claims and dissolve itself, these demands were ignored.

In response to this situation, Azerbaijan launched an "anti-terrorist operation" on September 19, 2023 to restore the constitutional order in Karabakh.

During the operation, which lasted about 24 hours, the Armenian armed forces and illegal formations in Karabakh laid down their arms. The Armenian forces that left their positions and retreated handed over their weapons to the Azerbaijani army. Thus, according to President Aliyev, "Azerbaijan has fully secured its sovereignty" in Karabakh.
