The organizations of the Turkic states held a conference in Geneva within the framework of the Turkic Week
On April 23, 2024, a conference entitled "Common heritage, progress together" was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva.
The event, organized within the framework of the Turkic Week in Geneva, was attended by heads and representatives of international organizations, diplomatic missions of member States and observers, leading experts, scientists and representatives of the private sector.
The panel session was moderated by Ambassador Omar Sultanov, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, and was attended by Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OT) Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, President of the Turkic Academy Professor Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage Prof. Aktoty Raimkulova, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, Deputy Secretary General of OTG Dr. Omer Kojaman and Department of Legal and International Relations of TURKPA Secretary of the Commission Kadir Yaman.
In his opening speech, OTG Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized the common heritage and unique contribution of the Turkic world in the fields of culture, education, diplomacy and governance, as well as the important role of Turkic cooperation organizations in developing regional cooperation and promoting peace and stability among the Turkic peoples.
During the discussions, the panelists highlighted the important contribution of the Turkic world to promoting cultural exchanges, promoting mutual understanding, promoting sustainable development, preserving culture, academic cooperation and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The sides also stressed their interconnectedness, confirming the vital role of cultural and academic diplomacy in solving global problems, preserving cultural heritage and achieving sustainable development.
The Conference has become an important platform for demonstrating the key contribution of cultural and regional organizations to the development of a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable world.
The parties expressed their continued commitment to the development of international dialogue and cooperation.
