The "Informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan" has started in Shusha, Azerbaijan

An informal summit of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) has started in the capital of Azerbaijan, Shusha.

The summit, organized by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, was attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the TRNC Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and Secretary General of the OTG Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

Turkey was represented at the summit by Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz. Yilmaz was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Aliyev welcomed the leaders participating in the summit on the theme "Building a sustainable future through transport links and actions to combat climate change." The leaders then proceeded to the meeting room.

The leaders will discuss strengthening the Middle Corridor and other transport links, as well as preparations for the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29), which Azerbaijan will host from November 11 to 22.

The "Karabakh Declaration" was signed at the informal summit of the heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG), held in the Azerbaijani city of Shusha.

The summit, organized by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, was attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the TRNC Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, Secretary General of OTG Ambassador Kubanichbek Omur Aliyev and President of the Council of Elders of OTG Binali Yildirim.

Following the results of the summit on the theme "Building a sustainable future through transport links and combating climate change", the leaders signed the "Karabakh Declaration".

The signing ceremony took place at the place where President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev signed the Shusha Declaration on June 15, 2021.
