The countdown to the "V World Nomad Games" in Kazakhstan has begun

A countdown ceremony to the "V World Nomad Games", which will be held from September 8 to 14 and will be hosted in Kazakhstan, was held in the capital Astana.

The ceremony at the EXPO International Exhibition Center was attended by Speaker of Parliament Yerlan Koshanov, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marjikpayev, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan, Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek and President of the Ethnosport Union of Kazakhstan Islambek Salkanov.

Bilal Erdogan and Koshanov have started the countdown to the V World Nomad Games, so there are 171 days left before the games, which will be held in the capital Astana in September.

At the ceremony, Koshanov congratulated Navruz on the holiday and noted that the World Nomad Games have become an important competition not only for the Turkic states, but also for the whole world.

Stressing that they are continuing preparations for the game in full swing, Koshanov continued:

"It is a great honor for all of us to organize the World Nomad Games in Kazakhstan with dignity. Our President (Kassym-Jomart Tokayev) instructed to organize this event at the highest level. I believe that the World Nomad Games will give a new impetus to mutual cooperation and the development of cultural ties between fraternal Turkic peoples.

Bilal Erdogan, President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, also stressed the importance of reviving and preserving the cultural and sporting heritage of the nomads.

Stating that, as a Confederation, they support the V World Nomad Games to be held in Kazakhstan, Bilal Erdogan said:

"We all need to work together to show the importance of our traditions and the World Nomad Games being implemented in this context. Therefore, the World Nomad Games, in addition to being just a sporting event, are crucial in terms of preserving, popularizing and transmitting various cultures and traditions to future generations. I congratulate the people of Kazakhstan on the Navruz holiday, and I hope that such cultural events will contribute to world peace."

Ticket sales for the V World Nomad Games started at the ceremony. The first ticket was bought by Bilal Erdogan, president of the World Ethnosport Confederation.

After the ceremony, Bilal Erdogan, along with the guests, visited the traditional craft fair and watched the concert of the Navruz festival.

Bilal Erdogan also visited the organizing center of the V World Nomad Games in Astana. A memorandum of understanding was signed here between the World Ethnosport Confederation and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan.

It is expected that teams from more than 100 countries will take part in the games, which will be held in Astana from September 8 to 14.

About 4,000 athletes will take part in the week-long competitions in 20 traditional sports.
