The city of Turkestan in Kazakhstan has officially become the tourist capital of the Turkic world

 

On December 26, 2023, the closing ceremony of the project "Tourist Capital of the Turkic World OTG 2023" was held in Shamakhi (Azerbaijan).

 

On December 26, 2023, the closing ceremony of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) project "Tourist Capital of the Turkic World 2023" was held in Shamakhi, Azerbaijan, and the symbolic key was handed over to the tourist capital of the Turkic world 2024 – Turkestan, Kazakhstan.

TURKESTAN WILL BECOME THE TOURIST CAPITAL OF THE TURKIC WORLD IN 2024

The ceremony, organized by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was attended by the Secretariat of the OTG, officials of the relevant ministries of tourism of the member countries and observer countries, as well as representatives of the Shamakhi and Turkestan velayats.

The delegation was also received by the governor of Shamakhi district, Tair Mammadov.

During 2023, various events aimed at increasing the tourist potential of the city were held in Shamakhi.

Turkestan will be named the "Tourist Capital of the Turkic World" for 2024 and will host various local/international tourism events.
