The 100th Anniversary Celebration of Kara Kyrgyz Autonomous Region was held in Gölbaşı, Ankara!

In collaboration with the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkey, TURKSOY, Gölbaşı Municipality, and the Honorary Consulate of Kyrgyzstan in Bolu, the celebration of the 33rd - anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence was held in Gölbaşı, Ankara.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey, Ruslan Kazakbaev, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Bolu Atillahan Kurt, Gölbaşı Municipality Mayor Yakup Odabaşı, Deputy Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Deputy Mayor of Keçiören Municipality, representatives of civil society organizations, and many Kyrgyz citizens.

The event, which was attended by Kyrgyz citizens living in various parts of Turkey and the people of Ankara, began with a recitation from the Quran, followed by an opening speech by Ruslan Kazakbaev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey.

Here are some highlights from Ruslan Kazakbaev's opening speech:

"I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the citizens in Ankara and all participants. The fact that this event is being held not only in our own country but especially in our brother country Turkey, in the Gölbaşı district, which has the most beautiful natural scenery of the capital Ankara, brings great happiness. Preserving the unity and solidarity of our people and the integrity of these precious lands is a sacred duty for each of us."

Ruslan Kazakbaev also expressed his thanks to Gölbaşı Municipality, Gölbaşı Mayor Yakup Odabaşı, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, and the Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey, Atillahan Kurt, for their support.

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev:

"Dear participants, dear students, I greet you all with respect on behalf of TURKSOY and myself. Today is a special day because 100 years ago, Kyrgyz intellectuals fought for the future of the Kyrgyz people. Despite the martial law of that time, they won this struggle. If we are here speaking today, we owe it to them. With your permission, I will continue my speech in Kyrgyz," he said, addressing the Kyrgyz participants, and once again expressed his gratitude.

Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Bolu, Atillahan Kurt:

"Our TURKSOY Secretary General, our esteemed Ambassador, our Consul General, officials from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality representing in an official capacity, officials from Keçiören Municipality, and dear Kyrgyz citizens, welcome all of you.

Our connection with Kyrgyzstan began, as our late father described, 'with a passion for Turan even in the womb.' Of course, the love for Turan, for Turks, is the ideal that all Turks around the world should be united. Thank God, almost all Turkish states have declared their independence within this century. Naturally, thanks to the struggle that started with the Kara Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, the Kyrgyz Republic was also established. Although it is a young state at 33 years old, its 100-year struggle is actually a realization of the 5000-year legacy of Turkish history."

After honoring the memory of those who served for the ideal of Turan in the past, Kurt expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization.

After the speeches, an award ceremony took place. The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ankara presented an award to Honorary Consul Atillahan Kurt.

At the event, Kyrgyz artists entertained with music and dance; traditional clothes and games were featured. Many types of traditional Kyrgyz cuisine were served to the participants and the public.
