Kurtulmus touched upon the impact of non-governmental organizations on the February 6 earthquake and pointed out the importance of the Turkish Red Crescent's place in civil society. Kurtulmus drew attention to the events in Gaza and said: "In the face of this great massacre in Gaza, which, unfortunately, has reached the scale of genocide in Gaza, where Islamic countries have failed to respond adequately, believe me, non-governmental organizations around the world have shown extremely serious sensitivity. We remember with respect and gratitude the doctors who did not recognize the occupation borders drawn by the Zionist regime and did not know the borders to help people there, not paying attention to their lives, where the buildings stood. They were demolished, and there was no wall left where one could hide in their shadow. Civil society, the great Palestinian sensitivity, the great humanitarian epic and the joy of the genocide in the Gaza Strip. We declare that they have created a front that we can call the front of humanity. "We see that humanity has taken great action to review aid organizations around the world under pressure from civil society and has brought joy to people at iftar tables, especially during the month of Ramadan. There are currently many civilians living in Turkey, whose names I will not list in order, I know how public organizations work until dawn to deliver a single loaf of bread. In the same way, I congratulate the Turkish Red Crescent on organizing a ship of kindness from Mersin to Gaza."
The iftar program ended after the photo sessions.
