Russian President Putin spoke at the Makhtumkulu Firaki Forum
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a new world order is being formed, reflecting the diversity of the planet, and said: "This is a natural and irreversible process."
According to a statement from the Kremlin Palace, Putin took part in the forum "The relationship of time and civilization – the modern world and the basis of development", which was held in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkulu Firaki.
In his speech here, Putin said that Makhtumkulu Firaki left a rich legacy for Turkmenistan and that his works form the basis of Turkmen literature. In the letters written to Turkmen soldiers during World War II, there were lines from Firaki's poems to raise morale."
Recalling that Firaki had lived for a long time in the village of Funtovo in the Astrakhan region of Russia, Putin said that the Turkmen diaspora continues to exist in this village today, that in 2019 a Firaki school was opened here, and a monument to Firaki was erected in Astrakhan and his works were translated into Russian.
"New economic, financial and political centers are emerging in the east and south"
Assessing the situation in the world, Putin said: "The world is facing unprecedented threats of a split of civilizations, conflicts between ethnic and religious groups. International relations have entered a period of fundamental global changes. During this period, a new world order is being formed, reflecting the diversity of the planet. This is a natural and irreversible process."
Noting that powerful new economic, financial and political centers have appeared in the east and south, Putin said: "These centers are trying to protect and strengthen sovereignty, socio-cultural identity, and find ways to develop in accordance with traditions and national interests."
Stating that they stand for a fair distribution of assets, constructive democratization of international life and interaction in a multipolar world order, Putin pointed out that in this context, the BRICS summit will be held on October 22-24 in Kazan, the capital of the Russian-affiliated Republic of Tatarstan.
