Kyrgyz President Zhaparov received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bayramov

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

According to a written statement from the Kyrgyz President's press center, Zhaparov and Bayramov exchanged views on the current state and future of relations between the two countries. Noting that the Kyrgyz side attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan, Zhaparov said: "In recent years, there have been breakthroughs in the history of bilateral relations. Two high-level visits took place in 2022, and all the problems that hindered the development of cooperation between the two countries were resolved."

Expressing satisfaction that the parties had established a strategic partnership, Zhaparov recalled that they had established the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund under the Interstate Council with Azerbaijan and signed an agreement on the construction of a 5-star hotel on the shore of Issyk-Kul. Zhaparov stressed that interstate relations with Azerbaijan are developing very dynamically and have reached a high level.

Bayramov, on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev, invited Zhaparov to participate in the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Azerbaijan this year. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Bayramov thanked Zhaparov for the opportunity to meet and conveyed Aliyev's congratulations on the Ramadan holiday.

BAYRAMOV ALSO MET WITH SPEAKER OF THE ASSEMBLY OF KYRGYZSTAN SHAKIEV

Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiyev received Bayramov, who was on an official visit to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Shakiyev stated that Kyrgyzstan attaches special importance to the development of relations with the fraternal Republic of Azerbaijan, and said: "We are fraternal peoples with a similar history, language, culture and spiritual values."

"The leaders of our countries work in close cooperation and contribute to strengthening relations," Shakiyev said, adding that he was confident that they would continue to develop a partnership based on brotherhood and friendship. Shakiyev stressed that Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani interparliamentary relations have been actively developing in recent years, and said that he plans to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in the near future.

Bayramov also conveyed greetings from Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Sagiba Gafarova and drew attention to the important role of parliaments in the development of relations between the two countries.

The talks were also attended by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bishkek Latif Gandilov.
