Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov spoke at the sixth Meeting of the High—level Council for Strategic Cooperation, which was co-chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived on an official visit to the capital of Kyrgyzstan — Bishkek.

Welcoming the Turkish delegation, Zhaparov said: "I sincerely welcome you. Turkey is a fraternal country and a strategic partner for Kyrgyzstan. I believe in the common destiny of our countries and peoples." He also noted that President Erdogan became the first guest of the new building of the presidential administration "IntymakOrdo."

Zhaparov stressed that the traditional Kyrgyz yurts, which are of particular importance for nomadic peoples, were transferred to Turkey, and expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two countries.

Kyrgyzstan has invited Turkish companies to invest in the energy sector

Zhaparov called on Turkish companies to consider the possibility of participating in the construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants in Kyrgyzstan. He also noted the importance of exporting Kyrgyz goods to Turkey and suggested simplifying customs procedures for Kyrgyz products.

The President stressed the increased importance of transport and logistics issues in the light of global events and spoke about the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which should connect with Turkey.

Zhaparov said that Turkey occupies a leading position in the world in the production of medical materials and high-quality medicines, and expressed a desire for a pharmaceutical factory to be built in Kyrgyzstan.

The President also recalled the launch of an air service on the Ankara-Bishkek-Ankara route and suggested holding Days of Turkish Culture in Kyrgyzstan.
