Kyrgyz Government announces transfer of FETO schools to Maarif Foundation
The Government of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the network of ZAPAT educational institutions, which are known to be associated with the terrorist organization FETO, has been transferred to the Maarif Foundation.
According to a message on the official website of the Government of Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov met at the Presidential Palace with Husny Birjan, representative of the Turkish Maarif Foundation in Kyrgyzstan, and his accompanying delegation.
Announcing the decision to transfer the ZAPAT network of educational institutions in the country to the management of the Maarif Foundation, Baysalov said that this decision was made in connection with the interests of his students and the foundation's well-deserved reputation as a reliable partner in the field of education.
Stressing that over the five-year period of work in Kyrgyzstan, the Maarif Foundation has demonstrated the highest level of quality of educational standards, meeting both national and international requirements, Baisalov expressed confidence that the transfer of management of the ZAPAT network would best serve the interests of students and their parents and significantly improve their educational conditions and opportunities for comprehensive development.
Baisalov pointed out the importance of protecting the rights of school employees and ensuring the continuity of the educational process through strict compliance with the law during the transition to the new administration.
"We plan to attract large investments"
Birjan, the representative of the Maarif Foundation in Kyrgyzstan, said that in the coming months the foundation plans to attract large investments in the development of Kyrgyzstan's educational infrastructure.
Stating that they plan to expand the school network, introduce modern technologies and educational programs, as well as create new opportunities for students, Birjan said: "These steps are aimed at promoting the sustainable development of the country and strengthening Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation in the field of education."
Educational institutions affiliated with FETO in Kyrgyzstan began their activities in 1992 under the name SEBAT educational institutions. The name of the Sebat educational institution was changed to ZAPAT (quality) in connection with Turkey's struggle against FETO.
