Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ankara Hosts Traditional Iftar Program for Kyrgyz Citizens
The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ankara organized a traditional "Iftarı" event for Kyrgyz citizens residing and studying in Ankara in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey, Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Bolu, Atillahan Kurt, renowned actor Necati Şaşmaz—best known for his role as Polat Alemdar in Kurtlar Vadisi—as well as embassy staff and more than 200 Kyrgyz citizens from Ankara and surrounding provinces.
In his speech, Ambassador Kazakbaev extended his best wishes for Ramadan, a month of special significance for all Muslims, and emphasized the importance of unity, solidarity, mutual understanding, and cooperation among Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey.
The Ambassador also highlighted the Kyrgyz Republic’s strategic development goals, set under the slogan "National Inspiration – Global Excellence," drawing attention to the nation's cultural heritage, spiritual values, and economic aspirations. He stressed the significance of preserving the independence of Kyrgyz statehood, achieved through centuries of struggle, and paid tribute to the founding leaders of modern Kyrgyzstan, including Abdykerim Sydykov, Imanaly Aidarbekov, Jusup Abdrakhmanov, Abdykadyr Orozbekov, and Ishenaly Arabaev. He also noted that a presidential decree had recently been signed in their honor.
The evening featured performances of traditional Kyrgyz folk songs and instrumental pieces, while participants joined in singing patriotic songs expressing their love for their homeland.
At the conclusion of the event, Ambassador Kazakbaev personally met with attendees and extended his greetings for the upcoming Nowruz celebrations. He also provided insights into ongoing reforms aimed at improving the well-being and economic prosperity of the Kyrgyz people, the Embassy’s efforts to safeguard the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens, and the current state and future prospects of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations.
