Agreements totaling $26.6 billion were signed at the Investment Forum in Tashkent
At the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum, which was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, agreements totaling $26 billion 600 million related to the implementation of investment projects were signed.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, the forum, held in Tashkent on May 2-3, was attended by more than 2,500 officials and experts from 93 countries and international organizations, and agreements and memoranda totaling $26 billion 600 million were signed on investment projects envisaged for implementation in the country within the framework of the forum.
According to the statement, at the Tashkent International Investment Forum held in 2022, agreements were reached on investments in the amount of $ 7.8 billion, and at the forum held in 2023 - $ 11 billion, while only 167 agreements and memoranda were signed at the last two forums.
According to investment agreements between the government of Uzbekistan and foreign investors, the Saudi company Data Volt will build an infrastructure worth $1 billion and a green technology data center in Tashkent worth $3 billion, Acwa Power will build a wind farm in Karakalpakstan worth $6.2 billion, Amea Power from the United Arab Emirates will build a wind farm worth $1.1 billion in Karakalpakstan, and the Egyptian company Nile will build a sugar factory worth $500 million in the Jizzakh region.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who attended the forum and made a speech, invited foreign companies to invest in his country and said that the government would support and help initiatives and projects of foreign investors.
