A reception was held on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement, established by the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) and the "Day of Cooperation of Turkic States".

The reception, held at a hotel in Ankara, was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nuh Yilmaz, Secretary General of OTG Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aybek Moldogaziev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Babur Usmanov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Reshad Mammadov, Kazakh Ambassador to Ankara Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Kyrgyz Ambassador to Ankara Ruslan Kazakbayev, Turkmen Ambassador to Ankara Mekan Ishanguliyev, TRNC Ambassador to Ankara Ismet Korukoglu, Honorary Consul of Kyrgyzstan in Bolu Atillahan Kurt and many representatives of diplomatic missions.

"The leaders of the OTG member countries came together with a common vision of creating an organization that will unite the Turkic world based on a common history, culture and language," Omuraliyev said.

In his speech here, Omuraliyev stated that he was very pleased to celebrate the Day of Cooperation of the Turkic States and the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhichevan Agreement, which laid the foundation for the Organization of the Turkic States.

"This historic milestone not only symbolizes the unity of our peoples, which our ancestors had long dreamed of, but also marked the beginning of a wonderful path of cooperation, solidarity and mutual progress," Omuraliyev said, adding that 15 years ago the leaders of the OTG member countries came together with a common vision of creating an organization that would unite the Turkic world based on a common history, culture and language.

Omuraliev stressed that since then, OTG has grown both in scale and influence, increasing the number of its members, developing political, economic and sectoral partnerships, as well as achieving strong positions in the global market.

Ambassador Omuraliev said: "Since its establishment, OTG has coordinated efforts in more than 35 areas of cooperation in foreign policy, security, economy, education, transport, energy and many other fields. Our organization has proven its importance and effectiveness with concrete achievements even in the most difficult times. Whether it was during the Karabakh war, the Covid-19 pandemic or the catastrophic earthquakes of the century in Turkey, our organization has consistently served as a platform for joint action thanks to the unwavering will of our leaders and the solidarity of the Turkic peoples."

Omuraliyev noted that "from an economic point of view, the Turkic states are the 14th largest economy and the third largest energy supplier in the world."

Noting that OTG is the only multilateral platform for cooperation in the Turkic world, which has a population of 175 million people, represents a large region of 4 million square kilometers and has a total gross national product of 1.9 trillion US dollars, Omuraliyev stated that these figures show the potential of the region.

Omuraliev stated that from an economic point of view, the Turkic states are the 14th largest economy and the third largest energy supplier in the world.

Noting that the efforts of the participating countries have led to a fourfold increase in trade between the Turkic states over the past decade, Omuraliyev stressed that they intend to maintain this trend.

"Thanks to a number of cooperation mechanisms and projects focused on various sectors and long-term goals, OTG is being transformed into a result-oriented platform implementing specific initiatives that bring significant socio-economic benefits to member states," Omuraliev said.

Minister Yerlikaya spoke at a reception on the occasion of the "Day of Cooperation of the Turkic States"

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said: "Through various mechanisms established within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, we are strengthening our fight against regional challenges and strengthening our solidarity in the name of regional and international peace and security."

In his speech at the reception on the occasion of the "15th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Agreement on the Establishment of the Organization of Turkic States" and the "Day of Cooperation of Turkic States", Minister Yerlikaya noted that October 3, 2009 was a turning point in the common history and that 15 years ago the heads of state came together to realize the vision of a common future.

Yerlikaya said that time has shown that the Nakhchivan Agreement not only creates the basis for Turkish integration, but also is a beacon of hope for their geography, and that solidarity and cooperation will prevail over challenges.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the 79th session of the United Nations. Recalling that at the General Assembly he explained that the Organization of Turkic States was gradually becoming a center of attraction, Yerlikaya said that they were very pleased to create an exemplary model of cooperation.

Stressing that in the coming years, the Organization of Turkic States will continue to promote peace, prosperity and stability in its region and beyond, Yerlikaya said: "The Organization of Turkic States has played an important role in the development of economic cooperation, encouraging trade and investment between member states. Through various mechanisms created within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, we are strengthening our fight against regional challenges and strengthening our solidarity in the name of regional and international peace and security."

Expressing satisfaction with the development of the sphere of multilateral cooperation in accordance with the vision of the Turkic world until 2040 and entering a period when new and permanent cooperation mechanisms are being created, Yerlikaya made the following statements:

"In Central Asia, in our ancestral homeland, with which we have deep historical, cultural and human ties, we fully support efforts to further strengthen the well-being of the countries of the region. We are developing relations with the countries of the region both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, within the framework of existing institutional mechanisms of cooperation. In this context, on September 6, 2024, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, we held the first meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States. Thus, we have laid the foundations for a new platform that will strengthen our joint work on various issues in our field of activity. We will organize the second meeting next year in hospitable Azerbaijan."

Noting that in addition to the achievements and experience of the organization over the past 15 years, they believe that a comprehensive vision of cooperation for the future will make a great contribution to their unity and solidarity, Yerlikaya wished that the anniversary would become a source of inspiration in the process of building a common future that is progressing successfully.
