A march in support of Palestine took place in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hundreds of people demonstrated in support of Palestine in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hundreds of people gathered in front of a shopping mall in Sarajevo to march in support of Palestine, despite the rainy weather.

Yusuf al-Sharqawi, one of the organizers of the demonstration, expressed his disagreement with the killing of civilians and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently experiencing the pain of the 1992-1995 war in Gaza.

Noting that International Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10, Maksida Kravic, one of the demonstrators, said: "I think all human rights are being killed in Gaza. Children are dying, wounded, civilians, hospitals are being shelled. Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the genocide took place, knows this scenario very well, and we saw what happened there."

The whole world is watching what is happening and knows that it feels it is not doing enough to stop it, Kravitch said: "Bosnia and Herzegovina's message to the world today is that we must not stop protesting and calling for an end to what is happening in Gaza.

" "We are against what is happening there,"

Amina Tvrtkovic, one of the demonstrators, said they had come together to draw attention to the importance of supporting the Palestinian people the people.

Stating that the Palestinian people are not alone, Tvrtkovic said: "We are against what is happening there (in Gaza), and the only correct word for this is genocide. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo suffered from the pain of war. Part of Bosnia and Herzegovina survived the genocide. Because the people of Sarajevo have experienced famine, bombing and mass murder, they know best what is happening in Gaza and can express their support in the best way."

Demonstrators who unfurled Palestinian flags and called for a ceasefire marched from the mall to the building of the President and Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chanting slogans such as "Palestine, you are not alone", "Cease fire now" and "Murderer of Israel", the march ended in front of the Museum of the History of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in front of the US Embassy in Sarajevo.

Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip after October 7

On October 7, the military wing of Hamas, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched a large-scale offensive against Israel under the pretext of "responding to the ongoing violations of Palestinians and sacred values, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque."

It was announced that 1,200 Israelis, including more than 310 soldiers, were killed and 5,132 wounded in the attacks on October 7.

Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip have killed 17,700 Palestinians, including at least 7,700 children and 5,150 women. Thousands of deaths are reported under the rubble.

While the Israeli army destroyed civilian infrastructure by attacking hospitals and educational institutions where people were sheltering, 98 soldiers were killed during the ground invasion.

On November 24, 81 Israeli and 240 Palestinian prisoners were mutually released during a "humanitarian break", which was granted for 4 days and then extended for another 3 days. On the other hand, Israel continued to detain and imprison thousands of Palestinians.

In the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, 275 Palestinians were killed as a result of attacks by Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers.

Low-intensity clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in Lebanon along the border killed 23 Lebanese civilians, 98 Hezbollah members and 6 Israeli soldiers.

The 1.9 million Palestinians displaced by force of arms in Gaza are struggling to survive without shelter, food, clean water, medicines and medical services.
