A "Joint Work Plan" was signed between the Turkic Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary
A "Joint Work Plan" has been signed between the Turkic Council (TDT) and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to support the development of relations between the TDT and the European Union (EU).
According to a statement from the TDT, Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto in Budapest.
During the meeting, Minister Szijjarto discussed the activities of the TDT Representative Office in Budapest, the establishment of an Institute for Drought Prevention within the framework of the Representative Office, Hungary's possible membership in the Turkish Investment Fund (TIF), as well as the launch of TIF activities.
The meeting also discussed a "Joint Work Plan" between the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the TDT on the development of relations between the TDT and the EU during the Hungarian presidency of the EU, which will begin in July. Szijjarto also noted the upcoming TDT meetings and events planned in Hungary.
Szijjarto reiterated Hungary's determination to strengthen multilateral cooperation with the TDT and the member countries of the organization.
Ambassador Omuraliev stressed the satisfaction of the Turkic states with the determination to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations with Hungary after Hungary received observer status in the TDT in 2018. He also noted that Hungary has become a valuable partner for the Turkic states.
Omuraliyev informed Siyarto about concrete steps to implement the Action Plan approved at the 10th TDT Summit, preparations for the informal summit in Shusha in Azerbaijan in July and for the 11th TDT Summit in Bishkek in October 2024. He also stressed the importance of the "Joint Work Plan" developed by the TDT and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to support the development of relations between the TDT and the EU in 2024.
The meeting was followed by the signing ceremony of the "Joint Plan and Work" between the TDT and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to support the development of relations between the TDT and the EU in 2024.
