Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), and Gerd Muller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), signed a joint declaration on strengthening cooperation between their organizations in promoting inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The signing ceremony, which is an important step towards promoting regional partnership and development, took place at the UNIDO headquarters in Vienna.
The joint statement outlines a shared commitment to promoting clean energy, environmental sustainability, digital transformation and agro-industrial value chains in the Turkic region and beyond. In addition, the document emphasizes the importance of supporting the private sector, improving trade competitiveness and building institutional capacity, and emphasizes the intention of the parties to participate in joint initiatives, knowledge sharing and capacity building.
After the signing ceremony, Ambassador Omuraliev and Mr. Mueller made statements on the importance of the signed joint declaration and held a bilateral meeting. The parties expressed their intention to further deepen cooperation between the two institutions.
